COVID-19 in South County

In March 2020 state and local authorities issued stay-at-homes directives telling people to stay home to slow the spread of COVID-19, a coronavirus that has reached pandemic proportions and infected nearly 25,000 people and killed more than 800 statewide. The pandemic has changed the way people live their day to day lives as some businesses have been forced to close and people asked to limit their social contact by staying home. Many public spaces have been shut down to limit access.

Hospital workers at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center were treated to free meals when seven food trucks made their food available free of charge courtesy EastLake Church.
