They’re names are Alexia, Aliyah, Abriel, Delany, Deliyah, Isla, Jazmine, Nevaeh, Penelope, Rhianna, Sophia, Valentina and Yanel.
They are members of the Bonita Valley 10U Gold All-Stars team that concluded a stellar season with a 38-8-3 record and a third-place finish at July’s USA Softball 10U B Western Nationals in Moorpark.
The team, which is led by head coach Ryan Lee and assistants Irene Olivo, J.P. Luna and Alex Tejada, won four of the seven tournaments it played during the season and was a finalist in another.
The team was dominant in its run of the South San Diego B District championship by outscoring opponents 53–4.
The team defeated Peninsula Breakers Gold, East County Silver, Bonita Valley Silver, Santee Gold, and Peninsula Breakers Gold to win the district title. The district championship qualified the 10U Gold team for the Southern California B State championships held in Lancaster. The local 10U all-stars finished among the top eight teams in the state.
The top-8 finish at the state tournament secured a berth in the USA Softball 10U B Western Nationals held July 24–30. The girls faced top- level teams at nationals and earned third place to join the top two finishers Glendora 10U Gold and CAPO Cobra Kai.
