Photographer Andy Bartotto had the chance to drop in on this year’s WonderCon event, the little brother of Comic-Con, held March 29-31 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

An annual comic book, science fiction and film convention dating to 1987, first held in the San Francisco Bay area, the event attracted an array of cosplay fans ranging from various incarnations of Spider-Man to Barbie.

American actress, stunt women and professional wrestler Janeshia Adams-Ginyard, best known for her role as Nomble, one of the Dora Milaje, in the Marvel Cinematic universe film “Black Panther and the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” made an appearance.

Paul Reiser, who co-starred in 1980s television show “Mad About You” with Helen Hunt, also made an appearance. He and his son Leon are involved with the new Marvel comic “Aliens What If …?”

The event is run by Comic-Con, but is much smaller, less Hollywood, less star power.
