OnStage Playhouse will present “To Kill a Mockingbird,” adapted by Christopher Sergel from the book by Harper Lee, June 4 through July 3 at its downtown Chula Vista theater.
The OnStage production is directed by Daniel Zisko and produced by Lynne Batchelor.
In Lee’s novel, first published in 1960, the story is set during three years of the Great Depression in a small town in Alabama and revolves around the racial injustices of the time in the Deep South.
Lee’s novel has since become recognized as an American literary classic.
The OnStage cast includes Wilson Adam Schooley (as Atticus Finch), Myra Modregon (as Scout Finch), Jacob Gardenswartz (as Jem Finch), Isabella Calabrese (as Dill Harris), Tisha Penny Coull (as Calpurnia), Katie Dupont (as Maudie Atkinson), Steve Oggel (as Walter Cunningham), Michael Smith (as Reverend Sykes), Paul Schaeffer (as Heck Tate), Shaela Parrott (as Stephanie Crawford), Julia Foster (as Mrs. Dubose), Thomas Mack (as Tom Robinson), Thomas McCaverly (as Boo Radley), Neal Sullivan (as Judge Taylor), Robin Boyington (as Mayella Ewell), James P. Steinberg (as Bob Ewell) and John McLean (as Mr. Gilmer).
Nathan Plummer joins McCaverly as an assistant director.
Tickets are $15 for adults, with discounts available. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
