Chula Vista is roughly between downtown San Diego and the border with Tijuana. Visitors to Chula Vista often have relatives, or friends living here. There is Southwestern College for undergraduates in many subjects. The Living Coast Discovery Center was formerly The Nature Interpretive Center. It has a few animals, birds, fish and exhibits. The population of Chula Vista in 2024 was 277,220. There are many parks of different sizes here.
Santa Barbara is right on the Pacific Ocean. There are broad, sandy beaches. An old Catholic mission was built there in 1786. THE U. C. Santa Barbara has more than 200 majors for students. It is possible for them to continue for a Masters degree, of for a Doctorate. The zoo there has many animals including giraffes and penguins. The pier Stearns Wharf projects into the Pacific. There are stores to shop in at the end of it. Once a week there is a farmer’s market. The tv show Psych was filmed there from 2006-2014.
