South Bay Water logo design competition

South Bay Water is now accepting entries for a community logo design competition. This logo competition is open to any person who lives or owns a business in the South Bay Water’s service area. The contest deadline is Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. The winning design will receive $1,000, and there are two $250 honorary mention prizes.

Earlier this year, the South Bay Water Board of Directors began a rebrand effort to connect the community to the district’s important role as the governance branch of Sweetwater Authority, a public water agency that serves 200,000 residents in South Bay with safe and reliable tap water. As part of that effort, the Board of Directors announced that the district would ask the community to help design the district’s future logo.

“We are excited to connect with the residents and business owners we serve by asking them to submit their vision for our district’s logo,” said South Bay Water President Manny Delgado. “We know there is incredible talent in South Bay, and we look forward to seeing the creativity of our community.”
Delgado said many do not know what South Bay Water is, and the Board wants to align the community with what South Bay Water does, showcasing the water it provides to the community.

“It is a look forward,” he said. “In the past, it was a lot of irrigation. A lot of farming and agriculture, but we have moved on as we have grown in the community. It is exciting also because this is something historic. So, we wanted to open it up to the community and give them the opportunity to showcase their talents. I think it is exciting. I think we have great talent here, so we are looking forward to what comes up.”
