The election in 2020 is the most acrimonious in history. Democrats and Republicans agree on very little. It is certain that counting all of the votes will take time.
It is likely that Donald J. Trump will jump the gun and declare himself the victor whenever in the process he is ahead. Another important likelihood is that settling everything in all states will take days, or even weeks. A record will be set for the number of lawsuits filed. Will results in a few states, or overall for the country go to the Supreme Court? Let’s hope not for the sake of brevity. The losing side will grumble and protest well into 2021.
