Public input sought on city’s climate plan

The City of Chula Vista is seeking input from the public for its Climate Action Plan update through surveys and workshops. Adopted in 2017, the plan laid out multiple greenhouse gas reduction measures, including joining San Diego Community Power, adopting a zero-waste food waste collection, and promoting clean transportation with an electric vehicle community shuttle. Many goals have been achieved and the city is setting a new set of goals that meet community preferences that align with the changing environment.
The city is holding three workshops in July, at which the City’s conservation specialist will provide a presentation on the background of the Climate Action Plan, its current implementation, potential future climate measures taken, Sustainability outreach efforts, and the plan’s next steps. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Civic Center Library (365 F Street)
• July 11, 2024 – from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
• July 13, 2024 – from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Hub at Otay Ranch Town Center (2015 Birch Road, Suite 407)                                    • July 16, 2024 – 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Those who attend the public workshops will have the opportunity to fill out one or both of two surveys; one is a 20-question broad survey on climate action, and the other is a 17-question survey focused on greenhouse gas reduction measures. If unable to make any of the workshops, you can view the presentation slides (https://bit.ly/4cL99Fg) and recorded presentation (https://bit.ly/4cLQbi4) online.
