njoy a day of play on the bay at the free family-friendly South Bay Pride Art and Music Festival Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 10 p.m.
Don’t miss this crowd-pleasing event on two music stages in Bayside Park along the Chula Vista Marina.
The daylong affair will be chock-full of activities, delicious food, superb drink, incredible music and more.
The lineup of performing artists will kick off with the amazing jazz of Celeste Barbier. Next in line will be Chula Vista’s own award-winning, genre-defying masterpiece band Vokab Kompany.
Vokab is to be followed by Rhythm & the Method, Liz Grace & the Swing Thing, Castillo Rock and The Social Animal.
The finale too will be big, concluding with two hours of high-energy music to include Ricky Rebel as well as the event headliner, nationally acclaimed pop star Ivy Levan.
If that is not enough to get your body moving, guests can also check out the heart-thumping beats and a soul-inspiring lineup on the Flick’s On Deck Stage. The DJ stage will showcase the music stylings of DJ Susu, DJ Dida, DJ EvLo, Dj Starlett and DJ Fabria.
There are other good reasons to come out and enjoy South Bay Pride. One is the first-ever presentation of Imperial Court’s Mr., Miss, Ms. and Mz.Gay Pride of South Bay. Guests can nominate themselves — or someone else — then cheer them on as they compete to win the crown on the main stage from noon to 1:30 p.m. This competition is not to be missed as it is the start of a tradition to be celebrated for years to come.
South Bay Pride Art & Music Festival will also showcase activities for the entire family including kayak tours and children’s bounce houses. There will also be an amazing selection of artisans showing off their creations.
It’s a “can’t miss” chance to enjoy a day (and night) on the bay while celebrating diversity, equality and love for all.
The event is being sponsored by the South Bay Alliance Association, an all-volunteer organization which works to build a coalition of the LGBTQ community while allying for social networking, business promotion and political awareness in South San Diego.
