There are a few writers who are extremely opinionated and express themselves in their personal, didactic manner. A notable writer in the 19th century who had a lot to say about life in America was Henry David Thoreau.
One of the best writers of both non-fiction, and fiction in the 20th century was Aldous Huxley. It is possible to find a hundred or more interesting quotes by each of these notable men of the past. There a new young writer in the 21st Century named Tatiana Schlossberg. She has only written one book so far about the relationship of people with the environment. She is still in her twenties. Tatiana is the granddaughter of John F. Kennedy. The trio expresses themselves eloquently in their own forceful ways.
I will rank as less than the third generation offspring in the annals of literature. I follow my own path and for what its worth also am didactic. The number of inhabitants of Southern California who ride public transit is between 5% and 6%. Drivers and passengers on buses and trollies currently wear masks, and maintain space between each other. The vehicles of the Metropolitan Transit System are cleaned inside and out every day.
There are fewer passengers than usual. Paul Jablonsky who it the head of MTS has obtained a $20 million dollar grant from the Federal Government so transit personnel continue to be paid even with much lesser demands place on the system.
There is a method to my madness. I drink tea, not coffee. My phone is a landline, not a cell phone. I eat no red meat-no beef or pork. What is essential to some people is unimportant to others. I appreciate the mild climate here. However, I rarely go to any beach. Books are more essential to me than beaches. As time goes by take in more and more information day by day. Then all of the data is assembled into lots of inter-related categories. The third step is to form conclusions base on the first two. Every conclusion must be as unconventional and politically incorrect as possible. I persist as an odd man out and a minority of one. To make clear than I am out of step with many of you I became eligible to vote in 1972. I voted for Senator McGovern for President. I thought of myself as a bit left of McGovern. I have never changed. Odd indeed.
