The inevitable occurred at Estadio Caliente as Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente was defeated by Club Deportivo Toluca in a complicated game for the locals.
The visitors took a lead in the first half when Isaac Brizuela, with a stroke of luck, sent a shot into the net that goalkeeper Cirilo Saucedo could not stop.
The Xolos tried to get the equalizer but this Halloween night they faced their own nightmare as the rival goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera kept the Tijuana squad from scoring.
In the second half the locals moved their players in an attempt to save the result but Talavera remained in control of the match as he saved his goal in a few occasions that could have change the outcome of the game.
In the end Toluca took three valuable points that qualify them to the playoffs while the Xolos remained in a risky situation since they only have 17 points with three games remaining.
Only eights teams qualify to the playoffs and four teams are in already, so the possibilities of Tijuana advancing are small if they do not earn at least seven points out of the remaining nine.
This could be acceptable since they had to remove their previous head coach this season however, not going to the playoffs could be awful to the fans who want to see this team compete once again.
