National City offers music classes

National City’s Community Services Department is offering virtual music classes thru Oct. 28. It is also promoting its Virtual Summer Scavenger

Hunt that takes place until Sept.26.

The Virtual Music Foundation classes that focus on reading rhythms, note reading, key signatures and more are full now, but people can still register on the wait list. This class is for ages 6 to 12.

Virtual private guitar lessons provide a 30-minute lesson at everyone’s skill level. Lessons include basic guitar practice skills and will progress as lessons continue.

The cost for all programs is $25.

National City is hosting its first Virtual Marathon and Scavenger Hunt. Participants will complete 26.2 miles of physical activity through the month of September.

At the end of the month, all participants who complete the distance will be given a marathon T-shirt and medal.

Twice a week, clues for the scavenger hunt will be placed on the city of National City Facebook page and on its Instagram @CityofNationalCity.

This free event is open to ages 6 months to 99 years old.
