Farias was fined $10,000 by a Chula Vista Superior Court judge last month and given credit for 483 days he has spent in jail.
He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter on July 30 and a murder charge was dropped.
Farias received 11 years for manslaughter and a 10-year consecutive term for the gun use. He got another year for having a prior felony conviction.
