Girl Scouts San Diego honored five local female leaders at its March 14 Cool Women Celebration at the Marriot Marquis San Diego Marina. Mission-driven executives in education, social impact, entrepreneurship, and law fields were recognized as Cool Women alongside 53 Emerging Leader Girl Scouts in grades 10-12. More than 550 attendees celebrated Women’s History Month, connected with exceptional professionals from the region, an invested in the next generation of female leaders.

• United Way of San Diego County President and CEO Nancy Sasaki (San Diego)

Since 2001, the Cool Women Celebration has honored more than 200 exemplary leaders from San Diego and beyond for their positive contributions to the development of girls and women.

Through mentoring opportunities, networking, and an inspiring program, the event forges powerful connections to advance female leadership in San Diego and Imperial counties. Proceeds fund dynamic programs that empower Girl Scouts from all backgrounds to connect and realize their collective potential to make a meaningful impact in the world.

“The Cool Women Celebration is a celebration of leadership and community,” said event co-chairs Natasha Bowman and Joyce Gattas in a press release. “This event is about inspiring future change-makers and creating a last impact in San Diego. It’s a moment to honor the trailblazing women among us, while also investing in the future by inspiring young women to lead with purpose and passion.”
