An intoxicated mother who crashed a stolen van which carried her two children in National City has been sentenced to one year in jail with an early release allowed for a residential alcohol treatment program.

Erica Marie Braswell, 26, was ordered to complete a 52-week parenting class under terms of five years probation by Chula Vista Superior Court Judge Theodore Weathers.

She is currently in the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility, but Deputy District Attorney Mary Loeb said she could be released early once a bed is available at the treatment program.
