A mother who left her 4-month-old daughter in a hot car with the windows rolled up last July in National City was ordered March 20 to stand trial for felony child endangerment.
Several people who alerted National City police about the victim testified in the preliminary hearing of Starley Geart, 25, in Chula Vista Superior Court. The incident occurred in the afternoon on July 24, 2012.
Geart was in a clothing store shopping when she left her daughter in the car. She told police she was only in the store a few minutes.
Judge Edward Allard III ordered Geart to next appear in court on April 4 to set a trial date. If she’s convicted, she faces a maximum 12-year term in prison.
