The statewide Cash for Appliances Program, which offers mail-in rebates up to $200 for high efficiency refrigerators, clothes washers, and room air conditioners, still has funding available.
The energy-saving new appliances must replace existing appliances, which are properly disposed through a certified recycler.
Community members, who buy an eligible appliance from a local Chula Vista appliance store and install the new appliance at a Chula Vista address, can receive up to an additional $120 instant rebate through the new Chula Vista Appliance Exchange Rebate Program sponsored by the City of Chula Vista and the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce.
Participating local appliance stores include:
Best Buy (Otay Ranch Town Center or South Bay Marketplace)
The Home Depot (Rancho del Rey or EastLake Terraces)
Kmart (Rancho del Rey)
Sears (Chula Vista Center)
