Southwestern College and the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce are hosting a mayoral and city council candidate forum.
The Oct. 1 event will feature candidates running for seats on the Chula Vista City Council.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to work with the (Chula Vista) Chamber to provide a forum that we hope can be informative for the voters of South County,” said Lillian Leopold, chief public information and government relations officer at Southwestern College.
“I’m looking forward to it (the forum),” said Councilwoman Patricia Aguilar. “I think it is an opportunity for the residents of Chula Vista to evaluate the candidates. I’m delighted to know Southwestern College is holding something like this because it is the only college institution in the South County.”
“I think it is a wonderful opportunity for all candidates,” said Chula Vista mayoral candidate Jerry Rindone. “I think it is a great opportunity for me to express my vision for the city of Chula Vista and why I’m the best candidate to represent Chula Vista.”
The forum begins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Mayan Hall on the Southwestern Callege campus. Free parking is available in lot O only.
