A Chula Vista man pleaded guilty Oct. 28 to assault with a firearm in the shooting of a former co-worker in a personal dispute.
Anthony Hillman Pollock, 37, has agreed to accept a 17-year prison sentence, said Deputy District Attorney Derek Grilz on Monday.
Sentencing is set for Jan. 9, 2017 by Chula Vista Superior Court Judge Garry Haehnle. Pollock remains in the George Bailey Detention Facility on $750,000 bail.
An attempted murder charge was dismissed. The incident took place Jan. 28 at 6:34 p.m. in the 600 block of Date Street in Chula Vista. Chula Vista Police responded to a call of multiple shots fired.
The victim was wounded in the side of his abdomen, but the wound was not life threatening, said Grilz. Pollock and the victim had worked together in the past, but they had a personal dispute that was not work related.
Police arrested Pollock at his residence in the 300 block of Morehouse Place in Chula Vista. Court records say Pollock was previously convicted of assault in 2003.
