HOLIDAY CENTER

Hispanas en San Diego will bring local vendors and displays to the Chula Vista Center’s inaugural Holiday Posada.

On Saturday, Dec. 17, from 2-5 p.m., the Chula Vista Center shopping mall is holding its inaugural “Holiday Posada,” a family friendly afternoon of live entertainment, vendor booths, holiday characters, and giveaways.

Located at the center’s northern court area around the Christmas tree, the event will feature free champurrado and conchas, dance and folklorico performances by local dance groups, DJ/live music from Univision Radio and Que Bueno 106.5FM, holiday themed characters for photo opportunities, a Letters to Santa station, and seasonal booths and vendors provided by Hispanas community group.

Chula Vista Center Senior General Manager Ramon Oseguera said the Center is “thrilled to bring this free afternoon with entertainment and fun” to the Center. He said the Chula Vista Center is dedicated to being a “cultural, entertainment and civic hub” for the community.

“We wanted to work with various partners to create an event that celebrates the Posada traditions and welcomes residents of all ages to participate,” he said. “We would love for this to become an annual tradition,” adding that the Center has ongoing photos with Santa, including special nights as “pet nights.”

Oseguera said the mission of the Hispanas en San Diego is to collaborate with the growth of Hispanic women in the San Diego region by providing them with resources, information and support to enrich their lives, fostering friendships and creating business opportunities.
