The San Diego Section girls volleyball and girls field hockey playoffs are about to face off.
All schools that field 2024 varsity girls volleyball teams will be placed into six divisions: Open, Division I, Division II, Division III, Division IV, Division V and Division V-AA.
The field hockey playoffs will consist of three divisions: Open (eight teams), Division I (12 teams) and Division II (12 teams).
The volleyball playoffs start with first-round play in Division I, Division III and Division V-AA on Oct. 29. First-round play continues with Division II, Division IV and Division V on Oct. 30. The Open Division quarterfinals and Division V-AA quarterfinals are Oct. 31.
Quarterfinals in Division I and Division III are No. 1 while quarterfinals in Division II, Division IV and Division V are Nov. 2.
Semifinals in Division I, Division III, Division V-AA and Open are Nov. 5. Semifinals in Division II, Division IV and Division V are Nov. 6.
Championship games are divided between three sites Nov. 7-9.
MiraCosta College will host the Division V-AA final on Nov. 7 and the Division III, Division IV and Division V finals on Nov. 9.
Southwestern College will host the Division I and Division II finals on Nov. 8.
The University of San Diego will host the Open Division final on Nov. 9.
All section Open Division teams, Division I semifinalists, Division II and Division III finalists and Division IV and Division V champions qualify for the regional playoffs. Division V-AA champions will not advance at this time.

The field hockey playoffs start Nov. 5 for Division II teams and Nov. 6 for Division I teams. Quarterfinals in the Open Division are Nov. 7, Division II on Nov. 8 and Division I on Nov. 9.
Semifinals in Open Division and Division II are Nov. 12 and Division I on Nov. 13.
Championship games are scheduled Nov. 16 at Eastlake High School — Division II at 1 p.m., Division I at 3:30 p.m. and Open Division at 6 p.m.
League champions automatically qualify for the playoffs. Any play-in games will take place before the first-round game in that division.
