The community is ready to get back to business.
Chula Vista city councilmembers Mike Diaz and Jill Galvez will be co-hosting two live online business mixers to update local business owners along Broadway on how to return to normal in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Broadway corridor has been the economic engine of Chula Vista for many years,” said Diaz. “Today is the time to focus our efforts on transforming Broadway to the gateway of west Chula Vista by making it family-friendly and welcoming visitors to all that Broadway has to offer.”
“Envision Broadway” is open to South Bay residents interested in the trajectory of their community. Diaz and Galvez will take questions during these live events.
The meeting will include a forum for sharing ideas among the Broadway business owners, goals for improving the Broadway corridor, opportunities business owners to get to know each other and future opportunities with the new bayfront development.
The discussion will also include public safety, preventing alcohol and drug related harm to youth and economic vitality along the Broadway corridor and new ways to increase business by focusing on revitalization.
Both events will take place Friday, June 19, 2020, the first from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for food and beverage establishments and the second from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for retail and all other businesses.
Online Zoom participants in the 2 p.m. business mixer should register at the Eventbrite link here. The 4 p.m. registration link is here. Email questions before the events to: jarellano@publicstrategies.org. Questions will also be taken via Zoom chat.
