Freed dealers will start prison terms later this month

Two Chula Vista men will surrender later in August to start their prison terms for their roles in a drug conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.

Jesse Ramirez, 28, who is known by the nickname “Junior,” was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on July 20 by U.S. District Court Judge Cathy Bencivengo, who allowed him to remain free on $50,000 bond until Aug. 31.

Christian Ramirez, 29, was sentenced July 7 to 30 months in state prison and he is free on $30,000 bond until Aug. 24, according to court records.
Both men are the only South Bay residents of several grand jury indictments that charged 18 other people in San Diego, El Cajon, and Spring Valley.

Jesse Ramirez received credit for serving 89 days in the Metropolitan Correction Center before he posted bond. Christian Ramirez admitted he possessed two kilograms of cocaine when he delivered it on Sept., 13, 2017, in exchange for $22,500 per kilo.
