The State Fair Political Practices Commission said recently they found no evidence that former Chula Vista Councilman Mitch Thompson violated the Political Reform Act and has ended their investigation of him.
Thompson was accused by State Assembly District 79 candidate Derrick Roach of “essentially engaging in inside trading.”
Roach said he was puzzled by the FPPC’s decision.
“With the amount of documentation I sent, I totally disagree with that,” he said.
Of Roach, Thompson said: “The guy is bad news, he’s got ill intent.”
