This week the Chula Vista Community Foundation, a regional affiliate of the San Diego Foundation, announced that it is accepting grant applications for up to $50,000 in funding to programs that address the needs of children and families.
In the 2023 cycle, CVCF invites nonprofit organizations to submit project proposals specifically for Chula Vista with special consideration given to proposals that address mental health and wellness, and physical well-being. Proposals must be submitted online by no later than 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23. Grant guidelines including directions on how to register and apply can be accessed at www.chulavistacommunityfoundation.org.
CVCF is committed to the financial support of projects and programs that make the biggest impact in the lives of people who live, work and play within the geographic boundaries of Chula Vista. CVCF is interested in how these projects and programs benefit Chula Vista if they are new or innovative or expansive in some way and have a positive effect to improve the lives of children and families in Chula Vista. These projects should be culturally humble and sensitive, practical and achievable within a 12-month period and have prospects for long-term sustainability.
Programs can include, but are not limited to:
• Mental health
• Healthy lifestyles
• Health and well-being
• Childcare/afterschool care
• Self-sufficiency
• Food insecurity
• Housing insecurity
• Domestic violence
“Through our current grant cycle, we want to work with local organizations closest to our youth and families to ensure that, as a community, we’re uplifting the mental health and physical well-being of our families and children.” stated Lisa Johnson, CVCF board chair in a press release.
