A man arrested for impersonating a police officer and domestic violence in March appeared today at the South Bay Superior Court facing new charges
Over six days, 17 grand jurors heard from 28 witnesses and returned 32 counts against Kevin Alan Kenniston after reviewing more than 100 exhibits, said Deputy District Attorney William La Fond.
Kenniston, 41, has a variety of charges that include domestic violence, kidnapping, false imprisonment, impersonating a police officer and detaining another, child endangerment and abuse, stalking and violation of a stay away order, according to court documents.
Kenniston’s original attorney Marc Carlos asked Judge Roderick Shelton to relieve him from representing Kenniston. Public defender Stephanie Slattery replaced Carlos as Kenniston’s defense attorney.
Shelton set Kenniston’s bail at $5 million.
La Fond said if found guilty, Kenniston will receive up to 24 years and four months in prison.
Kenniston’s next court appearance is June 13.
