City’s community shuttle expanding service to more riders

Originally launched in 2022, the Chula Vista Community Shuttle is now available to all adults in Northwest Chula Vista with an expansion to this service announced on Aug. 13 at a press conference at City Hall. The shuttle service is a free door-to-door service for those 55 years old and over, and riders between 18 and 54 can also now ride for $2 per ride. Children may also ride along with adults.

The service area runs approximately from the Sweetwater River to the North, to the bayfront on the west, to Interstate 805/Hilltop Drive to the East, and L Street to the south Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The program is funded by a $1 million grant from the Community Congregational Development Corp. and a $1.5 million grant from Clean Mobility Options. The shuttle operates an all-electric powered fleet of five sedans, including ADA-accessible vehicles.
