The Altrusa Club of Chula Vista will hold its 11th annual Imagine fundraiser and fashion show Sept. 6 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort.
Guests will enjoy lunch, a wide variety of silent auction items, raffle drawings, a fashion show featuring clothes from Glamour Girlz Boutique, and a live auction with Chula Vista City Attorney Glen Googins acting as auctioneer.
“This is a time for our members and supporters to have fun, while raising money for great local causes,” noted club president Shauna Stokes.
“Money raised will support literacy and service projects in the community, such as school readiness for pre-school children and books and materials at the Chula Vista Public Library; an Adopt-a-Teacher program to provide seed money for new teachers in our local schools to equip their classrooms, supplies for Casa de los Pobres (House of the Poor) in Tijuana, Mexico, support for a domestic violence shelter and preschool for children affected by domestic violence through South Bay Community Services, and funding for two YMCAs in the South Bay.”
Live auction items include VIP Jason Aldean concert package and penthouse vacation in Mexico, while a couple of lucky attendees will win either raffle prize of two nights stay and breakfast at Loews Coronado Bay Resort or four VIP tickets to the Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds to Mars and AFI concert.
“We are featuring a number of silent auction baskets, and each year they get better and better,” fundraiser chair Pat Upton said. “Our guests love to leave the event with something fun and new. The event provides an adventurous, easy and fashionable way to be charitable.”
