A former middle school teacher at Paradise Hills pleaded guilty May 16 receiving and possessing child pornography images on his computer.
Timothy James Hensley, 39, of North Park, will be sentenced on Aug. 12 in U.S. District Court in San Diego. He faces a minimum sentence of five years in federal prison and a maximum of 20 years.
Hensley worked at Bell Middle School, 620 Briarwood Road in Paradise Hills, before his arrest on Jan. 15 by federal agents.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Alessandra Serano said Hensley admitted to receiving images of a minor female who was around 10 years of age and who was engaging in sexually explicit conduct. She said Hensley also acknowledged having similar images on his iMac computer which was seized.
Hensley attempted to hang himself Jan. 21 while in custody, according to a published report.
A federal judge detained him without bail for several months, but a document said he was released on bond May 7.
