There are 63 officially designated national parks in The United States. The parks are spread out all over the country. Millions of tourists visit them each year.
Chula Vista and National City have San Diego to the north, and to the south. Larger cities as a general rule have bigger problems than smaller cities. Los Angeles has huge continuous challenges to solve with constant street repairs, thousands of homeless people, and high crime.
All of that is part of what happens in smaller cities on a lesser scale. All of the American parks have wildlife. Some national parks have bears, wolves and other animals which stray outside park boundaries. Nature knows no borders. As time goes by the difficulties in San Diego spillover into smaller nearby cities. Changes are constant.
