National Hispanic Heritage Month is from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. This month celebrates the history, cultures and contributions of Hispanic Americans.
It also recognizes the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
The Chula Vista public library will host several cultural performances and a Hispanic Literacy Day on Saturday, Sept 15. Those attending will get a chance to meet Hispanic authors and illustrators in person. The library is located at 365 F St. in Chula Vista.
On Sept. 23, In Biz Latino is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with food and entertainment
The event will take place at Pradley Park, 465 South Rancho Santa Fe Road in San Marcos, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
