Chula Vista’s Freeway Insurance Western Business Unit is holding a health fair for residents to learn more about their options during Covered California’s open enrollment which runs through Jan. 31, 2025. The Health Fair is Nov. 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Freeway Insurance’s office located at 624 Palomar Street, Suite 701, and is open to the public.
Freeway Insurance Western Business Unit President Brian Lebeck said this health care event is to help people navigate through the Covered California insurance enrollment period.
“People can come out and get educated on what is available in the marketplace for them,” he said. “They can come out and get quotes and get coverage during open enrollment. Anything from healthcare coverage, to dental, vision, and other programs offered by Covered California. We will have over a dozen brokers on-hand answering questions and providing support. They can see what subsidies they qualify for through Covered California and the Affordable Care Act.”
Lebeck said 65% of its customers can get coverage for less than $1 per month.
“We have all the major providers there. Kaiser, Molina, Sharp, Blue Sheild, all the carriers for California,” he said. “Any company they want, they can get,” he said.
Lebeck said in tandem, it is holding a blood drive event.
“We are also going to activities for the kids. Face painting, balloon making, and other activities. We are raffling quite a few prizes. Gift cards, and other cash prizes. We will have a DJ onsite. It will be a bunch of fun for families to come out. They can bring their kids and take part in the festivities.”
