A burglary suspect who allegedly posed as a maintenance worker in Bonita so he could get into people’s apartments will have a preliminary hearing on June 11.
The hearing date for Corey Omar Henson, 45, was set in March before the courts closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Henson pleaded not guilty to eight counts of residential burglary in San Diego Superior Court. He remains in the George Bailey Detention Facility on $1 million bail.
Henson was arrested Feb. 14 by detectives from La Mesa Police after two break-ins occurred in La Mesa.
La Mesa Police said Henson allegedly took purses and cash from victims’ apartments dating back to August 2019.
Deputy District Attorney Daniel Shim said Henson faces a maximum sentence of 339 years to life if he was convicted and given consecutive terms. Shim said none of the property taken has been recovered.
The other burglaries occurred in San Ysidro, San Diego, El Cajon, and Vista, said Shim.
Henson was identified by a witness who looked at surveillance videos from crime scenes.
