The city of Chula Vista in partnership with the South Bay Sustainable Communities Network is seeking around 300 volunteers to register for the 18th annual Beautify Chula Vista Day neighborhood cleanup on Oct. 23. The event is from 8:30 a.m. to noon and volunteers can choose to participate in beautification activities at Marina View Park located at 900 Marina Parkway, or Discovery Park, located at 700 Buena Vista Way.
Hosted by Mayor Mary Casillas Salas, Chula Vista City Council and the SBSCN, volunteers will help in the removal of graffiti, assist with landscape mulching, and clean up tons of litter from local streets, parks, and canyons.
Volunteers must provide their own transportation, are advised to wear appropriate clothing and shoes, bring work gloves, a refillable work bottle, and snacks or lunch.
All volunteers must register prior to the event. For details and registration for individuals or groups, please visit BeautifyChulaVista.org.
