The Living Coast Discovery Center is gearing up for its 15th Annual Farm to Bay Fundraiser on Aug. 3 from 4-7:30 p.m. This 21+ event has become a favorite South Bay summer tradition, combining samplings from local food and beverage partners, up-close animal encounters, all set in beautiful views inside the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
Living Coast Marketing & Communications Manager Sadie Klughers said each year, this event has raised more and more money for the Center, so it is a very successful event.

“One hundred percent of the proceeds of this event go back into supporting conservation, education, wildlife, and all our sustainability programs here at Living Coast,” she said. “It keeps us running year-round, so it is an important fundraiser for us. At the event we have food and wine/beer samplings from local businesses, so you get to sample the great food and wine we have here in San Diego. We will also have roaming animal encounters, so you will get to see many of our raptors, anything from our barn owl, king snake, and many other animals you will get to meet as well. We have a live and silent auction as well, and we have some great and fun items.”

The event will feature live entertainment, auctions and of course, all the Living Coast Discovery Center’s beloved animal ambassadors, including endangered sea turtles, sharks, hawks, eagles, owls and more. Farm to Bay is the Living Coast’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Last year’s sold-out event set a new fundraising record with $150,000 in net proceeds.
