Audience to be immersed in theatre

Maraya Performing Arts in Chula Vista is presenting an immersive theatrical show at ARTS: A Reason to Survive in National City beginning Dec. 13.

Maraya Performing Arts’ site-specific immersive youth theatre production of “Disney Descendants: The Musical,” that features 26 aspiring and diverse youth artists ages 6-17 of all backgrounds and abilities including a recent brain tumor survivor, individuals with autism, and a youth professional actor who is featured on Apple TV and the Disney channel. This unique interactive experience invites audience members to take an active role by exploring the space, interacting with the actors, and becoming part of the unfolding story.

Maraya is South Bay San Diego’s premiere multicultural performing arts academy dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for individuals of all ages and abilities; and offers multigenerational classes in dance, music, and theatre in its home studio located in Eastlake.

Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
