Even though Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente added goalkeeper Federico Villar this season, his work is almost identical to the team’s previous goalie as he’s costing the team valuable points because of his constant errors.
Once again the Xolos were defeated at home and the team continues to display signs that perhaps the new coach is not the proper one for this club.
Last night their rival Veracruz won 3-1 in a one-sided game as they dictated the action.
In the first half forward Dayro Moreno produced some danger with his personal play however he seemed alone when attacking.
Veracruz would not throw away their opportunity to take the lead when Villar had a miscalculation during a corner kick and after a few rebounds forward Julio Furch scored to give his team the lead.
In the 68th minute Club Tijuana tied the game when one of the opposing defenders failed to secure the ball and instead it got through and reached an unmarked Moreno who with a delightful play beat the keeper to tie the score 1-1.
Nine minutes later Veracruz made it 2-1 when Rodrigo Noya’s soft header was diverted from its original direction after it made contact with Xolos defender Leiton Jimenez and Vilar couldn’t reach the ball.
Two minutes before the final whistle Diego Chavez scored for the visitors in a play in which it looked like the Xolos keeper could have done much more.
Now the Xolos Cruz Azul on Saturday and try to make a recovery since they only have won 3 out of 12 points. If they were to lose this weekend it is possible that the Xolos could be getting a new head coach soon.
