Additionally, my role as Chair for the Sustainability Commission underscores my dedication to environmental stewardship and long-term community planning. My involvement on the board of directors of an elementary school reflects a hands-on approach to shaping the future of our youth and ensuring quality education. Furthermore, my experience as a local Realtor provides me with valuable insights into the housing market and economic development, crucial aspects of city governance. Overall, I enjoy a multifaceted background and am equipped with the skills, knowledge, and passion necessary to serve as an effective and responsive councilmember for the residents of Chula Vista. I am a committed public servant and a firm believer in the public good.

What are your top three priorities as a council member and why?

Through careful consideration and engagement with constituents, I have identified three key priorities that will guide my efforts in serving our district: public safety and local control, supporting small businesses, and advancing smart housing development.
First and foremost, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of my constituents is paramount. By prioritizing public safety initiatives and advocating for local control, we can tailor solutions that are responsive to the unique needs and concerns of District 3. Collaborative partnerships between law enforcement, community organizations, and local government will be essential in fostering a safe and secure environment where all residents can thrive. While we have done good work in the area, we still have much opportunity for refinement moving forward.

Secondly, I am committed to nurturing the vitality of our local economy by supporting small businesses. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our community, driving innovation, creating jobs, and contributing to the distinctive character of Chula Vista. By providing resources, incentives, and support systems, we can empower small business owners to succeed, revitalizing our commercial corridors and enhancing the vibrancy of our neighborhoods.

Lastly, addressing the housing crisis is imperative for ensuring the long-term sustainability and inclusivity of our city. Rents are increasingly unaffordable and purchasing a home is often out of reach for people. Through smart housing development initiatives, we can prioritize affordability, sustainability, and equitable access to housing for all residents. By collaborating with developers, community stakeholders, and housing advocates, we can create diverse housing options that meet the evolving needs of our community.

What is District 3 excelling in and why?

I am excited to share that Chula Vista’s District 3 continues to enjoy success in acquiring housing development contracts and fostering substantial economic growth. Through collaborative efforts and strategic planning, we have successfully secured numerous housing development contracts, addressing the growing demand for housing in our community and our region. Furthermore, our focus on economic development initiatives has led to tangible progress, attracting new businesses, creating job opportunities, and enhancing the overall vitality of our district. I am proud of the collective efforts of our community members, local businesses, and city officials in driving this positive momentum, and I greatly look forward to continuing our work to ensure the prosperity and wellbeing of all residents in Chula Vista’s District 3.

What is District 3 lacking and what plans do you have to create solutions?

I acknowledge the concerns about the lack of leadership in District 3 that truly captures the voices of constituents. I am committed to bridging this gap by implementing a proactive approach to community engagement. This includes regular town hall meetings, listening sessions, and surveys to ensure that every resident’s concerns, ideas, and priorities are heard and addressed. By fostering open communication and collaboration, I aim to be a responsive and accountable leader who truly represents the diverse needs and interests of our district. Everyone’s voice matters and must elect politicians who will represent us rather than their own agendas.

What makes you the better candidate for City Council and why?

I am the ideal candidate for City Council because I understand the needs of our community and am dedicated to responsive leadership. The six guiding principles of my platform are rooted in community voices and collective expectation. With experience in a wide variety of community roles and a commitment to inclusivity, I ensure every voice is heard. It is time to elect a councilmember who is authentically committed to our district and has the skills to get the job done starting on the first day. Together, we can build a thriving District 3 where all residents are valued and represented.

What else would you like for voters to know about you?

I am driven by an unwavering passion for community engagement. Throughout my tenure in various leadership capacities, whether as President of the HOA, Chair of the Sustainability Commission, or a board member of an elementary school, my enthusiasm for fostering connections and facilitating meaningful dialogue has remained steadfast. I am committed to ensuring that every resident’s voice is not only heard but also valued in the decision-making process. At the core of my candidacy are values that guide my every decision: transparency, accountability, integrity, and a deep-seated commitment to equity and inclusivity. These principles serve as the bedrock of my leadership philosophy, informing my interactions with constituents, colleagues, and fellow community members.
