Otay Ranch Town Center is bringing back its popular Make Believe Day at the Mall on Tuesday May 2 from 4-6 p.m. in tandem with the Center’s popular weekly farmer’s market. After a successful launch last year, the event is designed to encourage imagination and interactive play with numerous activities.
“We launched Make Believe Day at the Mall last year as an updated twist on our Prince and Princess Party we held each year prior to COVID,” said Tim Kilcourse, general manager at Otay Ranch Town Center. “When we wanted to bring the event back that encouraged imaginative play, we decided to expand it to include all levels of make believe and welcome even more kids and families. Our community previously loved the Prince and Princess iteration of this event and loved the expanded ‘Make Believe Day’ even more last year, so we knew we had to bring it back.”
Kilcourse said there will be free crafts and activities, face painting, princess-inspired hairdos, a themed photo booth and character appearances. This year’s celebrity appearances are Mario, Princess Peach and Spider-Man.
“Everyone loves the photo ops with our celebrity visitors. You can take your own photos with your own phone or camera,” he said.
