Feeding San Diego, the county’s leading hunger relief and food organization announced that it is in urgent need of volunteers in January. Though the organization had thousands of volunteers over the holidays, numbers have dropped in the new year according to a Jan. 3 press release.
The non-profit is urgently calling for volunteers to join them in their mission to end hunger through food rescue. Volunteers aged six and older (must have an adult chaperone) are welcome at the organization’s Sorrento Valley distribution center to help prepare food for distribution. There are four volunteer shifts a day, six days a week, Monday through Saturday at its Sorrento Valley distribution center at 9477 Waples Street, Ste. 100, San Diego.
Four shifts are daily held Monday through Saturday:
• 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
• 12 to 2 p.m.
• 3:30 to 5 p.m.
• 6 to 8 p.m.
Volunteers can register for a shift at https://volunteer.feedingsandiego.org/?view=calendar
