Get those taste buds ready for the 22nd annual Taste of Third from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 8 throughout the Third Avenue Village District.
The annual self-guided tour features samples of what the business district’s restaurants and establishments have to offer.
Downtown Chula Vista restaurants including Mangia Italiano, Italianissimo Trattoria, La Bella Pizza Garden and Don Pedro Taco Shop will offer samples of their faire to attendees.
New Third Avenue establishments such as Chula Vista Brewery, the Grind House, the Gentle Penguin and Temp are new participants at this year’s Taste of Third.
Chula Vista Brewery participated last year even though they were not yet open for business.
Tim Parker, owner of Chula Vista Brewery, said last year he gave out cookies and candy while offering tours of his new business. He said this year he looks forward to fully participating at the Taste of Third.
“I think the event is good for Third Avenue especially if we can bring out people who have never been out here before,” he said. “Normally every time we do these types of events we do very well.”
Kelly Lannom, events manager for Taste of Third, said ticket purchases include samples of alcohol from participating vendors to patrons age 21 and older.
Lannom said she expects 300 attendees from all over San Diego county.
“It allows for a walkable event,” Lannom said. “The street remains open, you get to pass every business as you stroll along to see what’s there.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event, if available. Ticket quantities are limited. Tickets can be purchased at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/taste-of-third-tickets-42012674039.
