One South Bay man got three years in prison for committing robberies at convenience stores in Chula Vista while another man got one year and is eligible to be released to a drug or alcohol residential program. A third man got work furlough.
Gustavo Torres, 35, received three years in prison from Chula Vista Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sontag on June 5.
Jonathan Cosio, 22, got 365 days in jail, but if a vacancy turns up at a residential treatment program, Cosio received permission to go into that.
Larry Jones, 28, was a passenger in the back seat of the getaway car and he was given 180 days which he can serve in a work furlough facility.
He will be free to go to work during the day, but will be locked up at night and on weekends.
Cosio, 22, pleaded guilty to robbing an AM-PM mini-market at 1725 Broadway the same night. Cosio agreed to waive all 220 days of credit in order to get probation, and so he will have to serve a full year.
