Dario Benedetto continues to impress those who once doubted him, secured his place Friday night among the best forward in Club Tijuana’s Xoloitzcuitles de Caliente history.
With his two goals the team got their first victory of the season in a 2-1 contest against Jaguares de Chiapas.
Just five minutes into the first half the Xolos organized an attack that led to Benedetto’s first encounter with the goal: A first-class play between him and midfielder Juan Arango gave the striker the advantage and all he had to do was place his exquisite right foot shot above the goalkeeper.
At the end of the half disorder occurred as the opposing benches got into an argument and the Xolos coach and the opponent’s goalkeeper’s coach got physical since they slapped each other. The result ended in the two head coach’s ejections as well as the keeper’s coach for Jaguares.
In the second half Club Tijuana’s offense prove to be lethal thanks to a defensive mischief and Benedetto follow up on the play and added his third goal of the season.
In the closing minutes Jaguares managed to score a goal in the 86th minute, when forward Matias Vuoso scored on a header that keeper Cirilo Saucedo couldn’t reach in time.
